Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information I collect when you use this site or work with me as a tutor, why I collect it, and what your rights are. I run a small tutoring practice. Your data stays under my control, and I do not sell it or share it with marketers.

If you have questions about anything below, email me at wwwtestprep@gmail.com.

What I Collect

From the contact form on this site. Your name, email address, phone number, your student’s grade level, and the message you write. That’s it: whatever information you choose to share.

From students with a portal account. When a student is enrolled in tutoring, they get a login to access course materials and practice questions. The site stores their email, a hashed password, the courses they’re enrolled in, the practice questions they’ve completed, their answers, whether each answer was correct, and timestamps for their activity. I use this data to track progress and tailor sessions.

Automatically from your browser. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are kept for security purposes. The site uses essential cookies to keep students logged in and to remember session information. I do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party tracking.

Why I Collect It

Contact form submissions: to respond to your inquiry. Student portal data: to teach effectively. Server logs and essential cookies: to keep the site secure and functional.

I don’t use any of this for advertising, profiling, or anything not related to tutoring the SAT.

Who Has Access

No one outside my practice. I don’t sell data or share it with marketing partners. The only third parties involved are the services that run the site itself: my web host (where the site lives) and my email service (which delivers messages from the contact form). Each has access only to what’s needed to do its job.

If a court ever ordered me to disclose information, I would comply with that order. That has not happened.

How Long I Keep It

Contact form submissions: deleted after one year if no tutoring relationship begins.

Student portal accounts: kept active during the tutoring relationship and for another year after the last session, so returning students don’t lose their progress. After a year of inactivity, accounts and associated data are deleted.

You can request earlier deletion at any time. See “Your Rights” below.

Your Rights

You can:

  1. Ask what data I have about you or your student
  2. Request a copy of that data
  3. Ask me to correct anything that’s wrong
  4. Ask me to delete your data

To make any of these requests, email wwwtestprep@gmail.com. I respond within seven days. There is no fee.

If your student is under 18, the parent or guardian who registered the account has these rights on the student’s behalf.

Security

The site uses HTTPS for all traffic. Passwords are hashed, not stored in readable form. I keep WordPress, LearnDash, and other plugins updated. I use two-factor authentication on my admin account. The site is hosted on a managed provider with regular backups.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever exposed student data, I would notify affected families promptly.

Children Under 13

My practice serves high school students preparing for the SAT. I don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13. If a student under 13 created an account without parental authorization, contact me and I’ll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If I update this policy, I’ll post the new version on this page with a revised date. For substantive changes affecting active students, I’ll send an email.
